About the Role

Serendib Systems is a Software Development agency with teams in Australia and Sri Lanka. We operate with a start-up culture that is open and collaborative. We have multiple global products used by thousands of users every day and we strive to improve them continuously. As a backend developer, you will be working with these systems and see a direct impact of your work on our users. We're looking for an excellent team player who can work with minimal supervision and with extra care for our users' data.

Responsibilities

• Utilise your expertise to design, develop and maintain efficient distributed systems and databases that support tens of thousands of users
• Read and understand large codebases, improve them and add features without breaking functionality
• Collaborate on resolving common issues in distributed systems such as scalability and data consistency
• Help make our products better for our users

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar technical field of study
• 2+ years of experience in backend development with Java/SQL
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices
• Experience in *Nix based environments

Preferred

• Experience in Kotlin
• Experience in ReactJs
• Experience in DevOps tools and platforms (Eg: Un-managed VPS providers, Docker, Kubernetes)
